SELDO
About

Built for the shops here

SELDO is not a translation of a system built elsewhere. It was written knowing how shops here actually work: the rate is agreed per sale, staff take goods against their wages, customers order on Telegram, and the internet drops once a day.

Why

A notebook is not bad — it is just not enough

A notebook is fast, reliable and never breaks. But it answers no questions: what did I earn this month? What is running out? Where did the shortfall come from?

SELDO does not try to replace the notebook. It keeps what is already written in one — debts, goods against wages, shifts — in the same order, only so that it can answer.

Principles

Six rules that are never broken

Money taken is always recorded

Not a dropped connection, not an unreachable fiscal module, not a shift nobody opened. The customer has paid and gone. Failing to record the money is the worst possible outcome.

The figure comes from the history

Not the stock figure, not the profit, not the debt. Each is computed from an append-only chain of records — which is why a dispute has an answer.

A mistake is corrected, never erased

A movement entered wrongly is corrected with a reversing entry, not deleted. Otherwise yesterday's report would quietly change today.

Language people understand

Messages are written in the shopkeeper's own language — in four of them. Not “Error 422”, but what happened and what to do about it.

A shop's data is the shop's own

Every query is bounded by the shop it belongs to — a security boundary, not a coding style. One shop never sees another's products, customers or figures.

A closed report is never rewritten

When a shift closes its cash report is written down and never recomputed. A refund made tomorrow must not alter the document somebody signed tonight.
